I bought on sale. I use pond salt after I clean out the pond or change out some water. It's good for the fish. Good price and fast delivery. Will purchase again.

I have used this Pond Salt in the past and had great success with my Koi's health. So when i found it on sale I got an extra bottle just to have. I tend to fluctuate between recommended amounts and lower amounts just to make sure that the bad bacteria never get too resistant. I have never gone wrong with any purchase I have made from Drs. Foster & Smith!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Worked better than I had hoped.

My koi and goldfish began flashing a few weeks ago. Within an hour of mixing pond salt into the water they stopped. It also helped with my string algae growth that accumulated over the winter when I had the pond covered. I would definitely recommend this product.

The cost is very reasonable and has finer granules than most products. Dissolves faster with no residue.

This was my first time using pond salt and so far it seems to help keep the water clear. My koi and goldfish are doing fine with it. I plan to continue adding it when I do water changes.

Essential for Healthy Koi

Maintaining a proper level of salt in our koi pond is essential. The only time our fish have shown serious signs of real stress was from the result of greatly reduced salt over years of water changes and extremely heavy rain. The fish were behaving so strangely that we called the koi vet out to take a look and tell us what to do. After a lot of testing he determined nothing was necessary but adding salt at 60 lbs. for our 6000 gal. pond. We did and the fish started improving immediately. Now we never let the salt level drop below the proper level.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Since I've been using this pond salt on a regular basis I have not had any sick fish. It is also very effective on the string algae that is a constant nuisance in my pond. I used to use all sorts of chemicals before I discovered the benefits of this product. I love the fact that it is all natural and very economical too! I would highly recommend you give this a try.

Yes, I recommend this product.

  1. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we are unable to answer this at this time, as it will vary depending on the type of pond, its inhabitants, and whether or not the pond is planted. We have included a link below to a page that will help provide you with the information you need. http://watergarden.com/catalog/pond_treatment/pond-salt.php

what is proper salinity reading for koi pond

  1. BruceNFairfax, Thank you for your question. It is recommended to keep your salt level at 0.1% for the best results.

pond salt ?

  1. We have been using pond salt for years as it is essential for the health of the koi, and we are not aware of any harm it does to the frogs. The frogs seems to be quite happy unless their croaking at night is actually complaining! Also, we have a koi vet that visits our pond to help us maintain heathy fish, and he is absolutely clear that pond salt is a must, especially additional amounts when adding new water.
