Works PERFECTLY!

My doggie doesn't have the kuxury of a doggie door, so I invested in this in hopes that she would use it (and I wouldn't have to worry if I stayed away from the house too long). She used it as soon as we got it! No more accidents. I put baking soda in the tray to neutralize the urine odor and there is not a pungent smell when she goes. Easy clean up. Hose it off. That's it! BEST doggie prop I have!

Yes, I recommend this product.

It would be better with a puppy not a grown dog .Wish I had a heads-up before I bought it . My little dog will not even go near it , she still sits and whines at the door or holds it untill she makes herself sick.

No, I do not recommend this product.

better than puppy pads

A bit small, my 6lb dog sometimes misses the target but functions well when used correctly and better than having puppy pads that need changing every time the dog pees and less unsightly than puppy pads. Training the dog then intending to move the patch out to the balcony.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great product but if you live in A Windy City like Chicago make sure you place bricks or large stones on the green turf because one night the wind gusts took the grass right off of our 32nd story balcony!

Potty patch

This was recommended to me by a Freind and I'm surprised the quality is not better. Surprisingly my 4 lb dachshund has no trouble using the patch. I'm interested to see how sustainable the patch will be over time. I do appreciate that replacement parts are available but hopefully these items are not needed frequently:

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for small places

Easy to clean, great for our small apartment. It took a few days for the dog to utilize it, but we actually put her on the leash and walked her on the pad so she knows it was okay. Because we have wood floors, I had to put a towel underneath it from slipping around. But overall, light, durable and a great alternative to paper pads which can be costly and messy!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not functional

This comes with 2 bases, so if the urine is in the middle, it leaks to the floor. Also, the turf does not have the correct drainage, so the urine can pool at the top and the dog will obviously not want to go there again. It is not functional to carry outside and clean since the turf is in 1 piece and the base is in 3 pieces (2 bases and 1 small connector). I did use another patch that comes with 1 base and has drainage that was useful.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This thing works!

It took about 2 weeks of training, but now my dog uses it independently. I live in a townhouse. I don't have a backyard, only a balcony/patio. My dog uses her dog door to go in/out to use the potty patch independently. It is a life safer!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Is the Potty Patch made in the USA

is the dog going to potty in the pet loo indoor yarding system?

    1. if you are asking if the dog will use the indoor / outdoor potty patch yes. Mine were fully house broken when I bought it and it took them about 1 week to start using it. When your dog urinates outside wipe it up with a paper towel then wipe the paper towel onto the potty patch so they smell it. when they use it praise them and give them treats. spray down all 3 pieces well with hose once a week, spray with cleaner and let dry outside. remove feces after they go with toilet paper and flush down toilet. best product ever i have two in my house for my 2 small dogs

Have cat owners used this for their cats?

    1. is your cat declawed? If yes, this might hurt her paws a lot as the cat already avoids the litterbox. If no, what have you tried for litterboxes? Only litter? And what kind of litter? Let me know and I will respond as soon as I get notified by Petco. There seems to be more to it. Has your cat seen a vet?

How can I train my German shepard to use this product?

    1. YES! I live in a 3-story townhouse. I don't have a backyard -- only a balcony/patio. I bought a dog door for the sliding glass door and my dog leaned to use it the same day I bought it. I bought the potty patch. I also bought the spray from PetCo that encourages your dog to potty where you spray it. I sprayed the potty patch. At first my dog didn't understand what I wanted her to do. She would wait until we went for a walk to potty. I carried the artificial grass mat from the potty patch with us on our walks. When she indicated she was ready to potty, I put the artificial grass down and she relieved herself on it. I praised her heavily each time she used it. After the walk she watched me put it back on the balcony. I praised her again. After about 2 weeks of this, she started going out her dog door and using the potty patch on the balcony all by herself. It really does work. Be consistent and be patient. Your dog will get it.

Can the Potty Patch replacement turf be used alone, without the base, in an outdoor exercise pen?

    1. sure i dont see why not

Is the potty patch for both urine and poo poo? Is it for dogs that are already trained but used for indoor due to bad weather?

    1. Yes, urine goes through and supposedly up to a gallon can be retained in the base. Poo is to be picked up as you might on grass. Our small dog does her business indoors and out, and this will help during winter.

How Critical is the Daily Clean-up?

    1. unfortunately a dog that is becoming disoriented due to age is not very trainable in any sense. of course every dog is different, but in general when our loveable pets get to that stage we need to have just as much tolerance and patience as possible, forgive them for their accidents, and clean up after them as often as possible, or have someone else do it.

will a boy dog miss the pad when he lifts his leg

    1. sometimes, yes. you want to buy one that is approximately twice the length of your dog, and even better, purchase a post or artificial fire hydrant to place in the center so they aim for that and not just any part of it, however male dogs are like male humans; they are not always the best aim. sad but true.

    How long will this last?

    1. It will last as long as you want it to as long as you take care of it and wash the Potty Patch

Can the green grass patch be sold seperate from the unit?

    1. yes they do sell replacement grass patches
