Flourish Tabs are growth stimulating tablets for plant roots. They contain essential trace elements, amino acids, and vitamins. They are rich in iron, manganese, magnesium, calcium, potassium, inositol, choline B12, biotin, and other factors that have been determined to be beneficial to aquatic plant roots. They contain no phosphate or nitrate that would promote algae proliferation. Each pack of ten tablets treats a 12 X 30 inch plant bed twice. Perfect for the beginner, Flourish Tabs contain all the nutrients found in Flourish in a dry, tabular form. These tabs are inserted into the gravel, providing direct, time-released fertilization to the plants' root zone. Nutrients are slowly made available through enzymatic action of the plants' roots on the tabs.

Insert one Flourish Tab in the gravel for every 10-15 cm (4-6 in.) radius. A standard 10 gallon aquarium requires 6 tabs. Distribute the tablets evenly throughout the gravel bed. Push each tablet midway into the gravel bed. Add new tablets once every three to four months for optimal plant growth. Tabs will not alter pH, but, in very soft or unbuffered water, they have slightly acidic properties similar to peat moss.

I have been using flourish tabs consistently for over two years now, and people have always been jealous of the growth in my tanks. with or without additional liquid fert dosing these tab preform time and time again. you heavy root feeders will never be left hungry again.

This product is the best of the market! Your fish tank will have a healthy plants without having algae problems. Your water TDS and phosphate will remain low and will have a great plants without algae.

Whether you use plant substrate or not, these root tabs are a must for root feeding plants! You'll see noticeable response from the plants within 24hrs. [assuming all other conditions, like lighting, are favorable]. Heavy root feeders which are vigorously growing should get a new tab at 2mos. Don't add these right at the base of the plant. NEVER vacuum the gravel when using root tabs -- there is no point in wasting your money if you're going to vacuum the gravel... If the tabs are released into the water column, algae h*ll will break loose. Planted aquarium should NEVER have the gravel vacuumed as it disturbs the roots of plants and also removes all the good stuff plants feed on.

I really like the flourish tabs since I only have to use them a couple times a year to supplement my plants. I have used other fertilizing products and this one is by far the best. In combination with SeaChem's liquid plant fertilizers I have extremely healthy plants.

I bought these to fertilize my 20 gallon planted aquarium because I just use gravel as my substrate. They work great! I can already tell the difference, and the tabs are supposed to last 3-4 months (which they seem to be doing). They also leave you enough time to bury them in the substrate before they start dissolving.

I was very pleased with the performance on these little guys. They make a mess when you vacuum the gravel, but it all goes up the vacuum so it is not too bad. Overall, great product, I continue to purchase and use them.

Flourish Tabs are the easiest means of fertilizing your plants. I've seen great growth from all my plants after using this product. I like that it doesn't simply contain Iron and Nitrogen, but numerous other minerals essential to plant development. I also use these tabs in a saltwater tank to grow macro-algae like caulerpa and gracillaria, without causing nuisance algae outbreaks. Because of the slow disolving rate, flourish tabs last a long time, and don't create sudden bursts of nutrients which contribute to algae outbreaks. The only drawback is that the tabs contain Nitrogen, which I would like to add separately.

Eco-complete plus root tabs?

Thank you for your question. Eco-complete will not become exhausted for a very, very long time, if ever. You should never need to add another root fertilizer such as root tabs in if you are using eco-complete.

yes you should be fine. the best way to figured out if you will be okay with just roottabs or if you need additional ferts is to look at the roots, lots of thick roots=heavy root feeders.

Do I have to buy plant fertilizer substrate if I use this for my plants?

you don't have to, but it will help. the plant substrates can offer more nutrients to aid the plant growth.
