Use one ml (top mark of enclosed dispenser) for each 40 liter (10 gallons) of new water. For larger doses, note that one capful (5 ml) will treat 200 liters (50 gallons). Note: The two and four liter container's cap is 10 ml. This dose removes approximately 0.6 mg/l ammonia, 3 mg/l chloramine, or 4 mg/l chlorine. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. Sulfur odor is normal. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite in an emergency, up to five times normal dose may be used. If temperature is >86 degrees (F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose. Caution. Aquarium use only. Keep away from children. Contains complexed hydrosulfite salts.

Questions

- Make sure your aquarium heater ius around 80 and 82 degrees and plenty of stuff for algae to grow on and you should be fine.

Will this product have a negative effect on Purigen?
- The only thing you should be using is prime. Slime coat will neutralize its effectiveness by coating it making it useless.

Ok to use with plants and carbon in filter?
- I have a tank full of plants and have no problems with their growth using Prime, just follow their recommended guidelines. I have been using Prime in my planted tanks for over a decade. Won't use anything else, great value and does the job exceptionally.

How long should i use Prime before i can tell it is helping my tank.
- (Feel free to skip to the bottom where it says "recommended solution" if you don't want to read the detailed explanation) Prime detoxifies the nitrates in the water but it doesn’t remove them. These detoxified nitrates shouldn’t harm fish, but only if all the nitrates are detoxified. Since this is not the primary function of Prime, the dose necessary to remove all the nitrates would be much higher than directed and would not be safe for fish. LIKELY CAUSE: If the nitrate levels are still that high after a water change then the problem is likely that your tap or other source of water already has a high nitrate concentration. If this is the case then unfortunately, water changes won’t help no matter how clean your tank is. RECOMMENDED SOLUTION: There is a very easy solution to help reduce these nitrates: plants! All plants need nitrates and will be happy to remove them from your water. I would add a few plants and test the water after a few days. By then you will be able to determine if they are lowering the nitrates enough. If that doesn’t work there are always the nitrate removing media for your filter, but those can be pricey and harder to find.

Does prime water treatment expire?
- The bottle itself has directions in MANY different languages but no expiration date. Mine arrived frozen solid, seriously! Literally! I have had no issues with it and highly recommend it.

Is Prime safe to use with Pimafix and Melafix?
- I have not used the Pimafix or the melafix. As far as water changes, Prime has been excellent! No fish loss whatsoever since I started using it, but.. I have only guppies and they are pretty tough.

Hard water for fish tank
- I add Prime directly to my tank, so you should not have a problem using this directly in your tank with hard water or softened water. Prime does not affect the mineral balance of the water, and actually states that it helps to detoxify heavy metals at normal concentrations, it also does not affect pH.

Saltwater Fish QT Adverse Effects?
- This product does not affect pH and will not affect oxygen levels. It should be safe to use, but keep in mind it is very concentrated so you should use care in measuring carefully based on the water you have in the tank.

How to dose and Measure this stuff?
- When making water changes add two drops of Prime to each gallon of tap water you will be using.

WHEN USING PRIME, SHOULD YOU ALWAYS USE THE SIPHON AND GO INTO THE GRAVEL, OR JUST SIPHON OUT WATER?
- I am not sure I understand your question, but you can add Prime directly to the water, but you need to pre-measure the quantity of Prime for your tank size.
