The Six-Line Wrasse is a hardy, active and useful fish. This wrasse is a great choice for reef aquariums because they will not bother corals/anemones. In addition, they are known predators of a myriad of unwanted pests like bristle worms and flatworms. Provide an environment with a great deal of live rock so they can hide and scavenge. Provide a varied diet of frozen meaty foods and marine pellets for continued health. They have a small adult size of 4" which is another reason why they are so desirable. The Six Line Wrasse has a bluish-purple colored body with six neon orange horizontal lines. They also have a false eye by the caudal fin. The false eye confuses predators so they aim for that "eye" and it gives the butterfly a chance to get away. The Six Line Wrasse is found in the Indo-Pacific within seaward reefs' coral branches.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
