Use for Rabbits

I prefer paper pellets as litter over newspaper for rabbits. I've tried Yesterday's News but my rabbits think the pellets are too similar to their Oxbow food so I had to try something else. This works great and really absorbs the urine as well as hides the smell. I can go tops a week without changing the litter in my rabbits cages. I buy a new bag every month and a half for my two buns.

Yes, I recommend this product.

What a waste of money!

I bought this to be used in place of Yesterday's news. The price seemed right and it looked similar. I use litter for both my rabbit and my two ferrets. I never had an issue with odor on the old litter and was able to go a couple days in between scoops and cleanings. I changed their litter in the evening and the next day it wreaked! It smelled as if I hadn't changed their litter boxes in over a week. I now have to do daily litter box cleanings, sometimes twice a day, and have ended up going thru this bag in less than a week. If you want to try paper pellet litter I suggest Yesterday's News, don't waste your money on this stuff!

No, I do not recommend this product.

how much work

  1. Thank you for your question. According to the manufacturer's directions, "fill a clean cat litter box to a depth of at least 3 inches. Regularly remove solid waste. Refill litter box to the original level. Dispose of cat waste and litter in trash only. Clean litter box regularly with warm water and mild detergent." The amount of litter used will depend on your cats specific needs.

Difference between this and small animal litter?

  1. Thank you for your question. The differences are: The pellet size is different- Cat litter has a larger pellet The cat litter has Zeolite, is harder and is scented. The small animal bedding is softer with baking soda and available with and without scent

compost?

  1. It is probably safe for flower/plant beds NOT being used to grow plants for consumption. It should be fine for areas with decorative plants only.

Is this safe for ferrets?

  1. I use this for our four ferrets with no problems. It is very low dust and is cheaper than the same paper litter marketed for small animals.
