The Worst

I have had cats for 20 years and this is by far the worst cat litter I have ever bought. First my cats were eating it and then I mixed it with Dr. Esley's litter. The dust is atrocious. When it says low dust that is such a lie. It will take me all day now to clean the dust from that room. I utilized the money back guarantee and got a check back today for $22.99. What a terrible product!!!

Swheat Scoop not so sweet

KittySue

I'm here to debunk the Swheat Scoop myth. Let's see what Swheat Scoop claims: Clumping? Nope. Leaves the litterbox full of urine-soaked crumbles. Reduces Odor: Nope. Not bad for urine odor, but does nothing for feces. No dust: No again. Wheat dust is as messy as clay dust. No tracking: Aargh! This stuff is all over the house. I don't know how they can make the claims they do, maybe their test cats don't eat or drink much.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We have always loved SwheatScoop. We've been using it since the beginning and highly recomend it to anyone. It's safe for cats and humans. There is some tracking as with all litters. We don't really notice dust, but I either turn the bag up and pour close to the box itself or scoop it in. When the cats are digging in it there is no dust. Fresh urine takes on the smell of fresh baked bread and covered feces hav no odor. This can be safely flushed down the toilet for easy disposal. The cats love it. And there is no difference between this and the multicat formula except price. Depending on the ph level of your cat's urine, some clump better than others, but we wouldn't trade it. Have tried other litters and none have been as successful as this for all litter issues. Cats take to this extremely well when switching over from other litters. Even with all the new "natural" litters on the market today, SwheatScoop still remains the best.

Smells like oatmeal. I use it for mouse litter, and it keeps them from smelling without being dangerous to eat or inhale.

Pantry Moths in Litter

CatOwnerxxxx

I bought this stuff to try a new litter for my cat. I had it for about a week or so, and then opened the bag that I had twisted down and taped shut and got swarmed by a bunch of moths. Come to find out they are pantry moths. I had never heard of pantry moths until I had the enjoyment of purchasing this cat litter. They love to feed on dry foods, flour/wheat is one of them, and once you get them they are hard and time consuming to get rid of. Even though I thought I killed all the ones that flew out they are still randomly popping up, and I found a larvae near where the cat litter used to be. So it means I'm going to have to clean out all of my cupboards, throw out anything that has a sign of them, and buy bait traps. I didn't think cat litter could cause so much of a problem until now.

Easy

I only have 1 cat & I can flush this litter. It makes cleaning the litter box very simple. If the depth of the litter is too shallow, the urine clumps will stick to the bottom of the litter box. It also does track, but it sweeps up really easy.

Love this litter

I've had cats my whole life and I have always used clay litter. Years ago, I took in a kitten who has had upper respiratory problems her whole life. She is 8 years old now and is still chronic. That is what prompted me to really look into cat litter. I thought if I could find something, at least dust free and unscented, that maybe it would help her nasal passages. Maybe it wouldn't irritate her so much. My first switch was to feline pine. I liked the way the pine dealt with the urine, but not the feces. It didn't do anything for feces odor. My cats didn't even want to cover it. When I would scoop their litter and change it, I wound up stepping on the pellets which hurt sometimes like stepping on a stone in the street with bare feet. I then thought that it may not be too comfortable for my cats to be stepping on either to use their litter pans. So i went back to clay. I tried to find a dust free clay litter. I tried Exquisicat unscented. It was ok, but I just didn't like how clay litter scooped as far as urine is concerned. So, I did a lot of research on litter and decided to try Swheat Scoop. Love it!....and so do my cats. It is fine like sand and it's all natural. No dust, no perfume smell, doesn't hurt when you step on it. It also hides all odors well...urine and feces. I do agree with others that it doesn't always clump in a ball. Sometimes it does stick to the sides or bottom, but it doesn't bother me enough to switch litter. It will still scoop out even if it's not perfect. It does track some, but you can just sweep it up or use a mat. It is more pricey than the clay litters, but it is worth it to me. It is better for my cats and I found that it does help my chronic kitties nasal passages.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Does this litter get tracked out of the box?

  1. A lot gets tracked on the floors. We have hardwood floors and I am always sweeping twice a day. .

what is the difference between the swheat litters?

  1. There is no difference in the original and multi cat formulas, so there's no need to spend the extra money. Both formulas will easily clump and take care of the smells of urine. Feces if covered won't smell either. But if your cat doesn't cover well, no litter is going to stop the odor of a fresh deposit. MOL I and every cat I've had highly recommend SwheatScoop. Good luck.
