My dog kind of gets treat crazy after a while and stops concentrating on the "right" way to get the treat, but he's just started learning the game and I think it will be good for him to learn to focus. He's a 65lb briard mix with big paws and a big nose and the size of the game is good for him (I was worried it might be too small before it arrived). It also seems very sturdy and well made. No regrets so far!

Challenging game!

This was really challenging at first (mostly my fault) it is important to read the directions and start off with repeating the same hiding spaces until the dog understands. I didn't do that the first time! But my dog is getting it (this is our 3rd day, and he is ready now for me to mix it up a little). It seems to be quite durable and he really does like it a lot. I can see how it will not be boring as there are multiple options to never play it the same way (once he is comfortable with the basics).

My sheltie really likes this game. The only issue is that I wanted it for Christmas and it took 10 days to arrive and didn't make it.

I ordered this over two weeks ago. My dog figured it out right away, he's an Australian Blue Heeler. However, he still enjoys the hunt. We have a few toys like this so we just change it up. I wish you best of luck w entertaining your puppy(ies)!

Great product - makes your dog really think

I've purchased several other dog puzzles of a different brand and they worked all right for my 6 year old Goldendoodle. But he typically figured them out within a few seconds to a few minutes. This puzzle is a different story. Because the orange towers are movable, we placed them in different slots so they acted as hindrances to the other slots where treats were hidden. He moved things around with his snout, then realized he had to pick the orange pieces up with his mouth (and moved them several feet away from the toy so they wouldn't get in the way). I'm not going to lie, it's very humorous watching him get the treats out of this thing. Overall, our dog took probably 5-10 minutes to get all of the treats out of this toy. I could see his gears grinding as he tried to figure it out and it was quite an amusing show. I'm very happy with this purchase because I feel it's finally a good toy my dog can use to work his brain.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Doggie Chess Rocks!

My Sheltie is smart and needs mental stimulation. With the bad winter still lingering I thought it would be great to make him find his food in an entertaining way. I only had to show him once or twice how the pieces move. After that he was able to figure it out after trying for a short time. He gets excited when I get the game out, and I would recommend this to anyone who has an inquisitive dog. The pieces move easily and they are built very well. The materials are not flimsy at all. It was well worth the money. It is a great game!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Can you get replacement parts if any of them get chewed up or otherwise destroyed?

  1. This product comes with a 1 year warranty. You may contact Petco to see if you qualify for a replacement part, if necessary, within that time frame. Thank you!

Would a chihuahua puppy be able to pick up the pieces and play with this game?

  1. The sliding parts are easy to move, so I don't think that would be a problem. The pieces that need to be lifted would probably be too big for a chihuahua's mouth--but those pieces can easily be knocked over so I think it would work. My big dog doesn't grab, he just knocks them out of the way with his nose.

Where is the product made?

  1. TRIXIE's Chess activity item is made in China. Thank you!
