This product may seem a bit pricey but it is worth the investment. My system has looked great, the fish look great and the system seems easier to maintain.

I have used Tropic Marin Bio-Actif Salt from the beginning and I have read many reviews complaining about the price. Yes, it does cost more than some salt mixes, but less than others. My tank tells me what salt to use, over the years I have tried some other salt mixes and before I can finish the careful transition to the new salt my corals would start showing signs of stress especially the SPS. Every week when I complete the water changes all corals immediately increase polyp extensions and color. Several fellow reefers have commented on the vitality of my reef tanks and ask what I dose. I do not dose anything in two 75 gallon mixed reef systems just consistent water changes. If I had to come up with any cons it would be if a batch of mixed salt water sits for more than 24 hours even with a stirring pump a brown slime forms on the walls of the mixing container. I did not get into this hobby to see how much money I can save, I am in it to enjoy a part of our ocean reefs in my home. I feel I owe it to the livestock in my tanks to provide the best environment I can.

Only 2 month old tank, but very pleased with product so far! Would recommend rolling bucket on floor few times do to settling.

Very good product. Very good quality salt. Makes the water in the aquarium crystal clear. Fish seem more active and healthy. My corals couldn't look better. My favorite salt out on the market right now and also for the price it's at.

This salt is worth the few dollars more than very good salt. I have used Bio-Actif for about a year and have found it to be a very stable salt, and there is very little coral withdrawl immediately after water changes.

All the trace elements my reef inhabitants desire. I've seen an explosion of color and growth in my system. Also, my protein skimmer is running much more efficiently now. For those who are looking to have your reef thrive not survive, this is your product.

Hello, I have been in the reef hobby for 30 years and have found this salt mix to be the best (and I have tried most). It mixes cleanly and completely in a short time. Coral and fish always respond well to water changes however with this mix, corals really open up. Also the chemistry is spot on. Recommend using a dosser to supplement with a 2 part & magnesium between water changes. Read one of the questions/answer threads, one should never operate a salt system without a skimmer, especially with this salt mix. This mix will make your skimmer more efficient by design. There are articles online about how this works. In my opinion, skimming is the most important aspect of maintaining a healthy reef/fish aquarium.
