Am I missing something here-why in the world is the caloric content of a weight-loss food not stated anywhere?
- Look at the protein content - the lower the protein the better for weight control in dogs. Ask a petco associate the next time you are in a store - they are very knowledgeable! Their advice worked for our dog - we bought the wellness weight control brand.

Which dry and canned best. Prefer natural, limited ingredients.
- My 12 year old labrador has healthy weight and diminshed joint pains since eating dry WEllness dry food in the red bad which is good for r weight control and joint relief for less active dogs. My dog wasn't portly but this keeps her at a healthy weight and helps with her joint ailments which have improved a great deal. My Large golden is doing great with the glucosamine and chondroitin in the mix and moves without stiffness or pain.

What is the difference between the Wellness Healthy Weight and Wellness Sr dry formula?
- You should probably call the customer service number on the packaging, but my guess would be that the Healthy Weight formula is richer in some of the nutrients needed by younger dogs who may still be growing. The senior formulas usually come with a minimum age guideline as older dogs may not need the same nutrients and may have more sensitive stomachs than a younger dog.
