Day/Night Cycle Switch Doesn't Work Properly

Either I don't know how to properly use this product, or it just doesn't do what it is supposed to. I bought this product at my usual Petco store because I am not always home because I work. I tested it out and it does have the day/night cycle dial, but there are supposed to be 2 day and 2 night plugs. The discription is terrible for this product. Even the manual didn't say much in detail. I need a light that can turn the day on and night off when I want it to for three lights.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Can I hook up more than 4 items to the timer?
- I believe you should be able to. As long as it has a grounded plug. You just gave me a good idea. Thank you for that. :)

Can the 4 timed outlets be set individualy to different hours?
- No, all four outlets are controlled by one timer and will turn on and off at the same set time.

Are the programable outlets set separetly or are they either all on or all off?
- I think they are supposed to be 2 day and 2 night, but mine won't do that.. They're either all on or all off.
