Great plant light.

I have tried virtually every plant bulb that you can buy (in T-8) and this one does it for my tanks. My fish seem to prefer low light and those 65K bulbs make them stay hidden. I have ten gal. fresh water tanks and I use two single light/two strip reflector set up/w two timers on 8A.M. till 8P.M. and 10A.m till 4P.M. If you don't have an ample amount of plants this set up will cause excess algae and of course the taller the tank the less this occurs. Choose 65-67K if you like brightly lit tanks. I prefer this bulb due to natural looking colors and excellent plant growth.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a 29 gallon tank with fish and plants. Will the 24" plant light you have do the job?

  1. As a 29gal. tank is rather tall, a Zoo Med T-8 Ultra Sun bulb would give more visible light and therefor would be preferred by people who like lots of light. A Flora Sun may not be enough light for plants in a tall tank like a 29 (unless you have two bulbs).

Can I use the Flora Sun Zoo Med Max Plant Growth with any hood?
