But this one is great .. I love it ... But it's a little bit expansive per pound .. And it's not avail in 20lb package.. I really love this product

Robin food

I rescued a baby robin that fell out of a tree. He had no feathers and I fed him every three hours with baby bird food. He grew up and got all his feathers. I took him outside in his cage and let him go. It was hard to see him fly away. The next day I was out in the yard and here comes Mr Robin. He landed on the fence by my hand so now he is part of my family. He loves to take baths and talks a lot. I tried all kinds of bird food and found ZuPreem Natural. He loves it and has thrived. I also feed him beef Natural Balance. I have another wild bird that cannot fly. He also eats both.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Zupreme is the best, BUT....

This is a great product, BUT, since the size of the individual pieces has increased, my keets and tiels won't touch it. It's just too big of pieces. They were all eating it very well until the size changed. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Why fix something if it's not broke???? Please bring back the smaller size!!!!!!!!!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Is a great product except..

A while ago, I had bought the "cockatiel size" pellets for my cockatiels. Every time they bit into it, shards of it would fly everywhere. They were just too big. Then I bought these small ones for parakeets in hopes it would reduce the waste. It did, but shards of it still flew everywhere. I wish the XS size was still being made.

Yes, I recommend this product.

birds readily eat it

probably the best product type for the money. Once used to pellets birds readily eat it. This product contains no added colors which is better for the health of your birds. However, if you really love your birds and can afford it, buy the Harrisons brand. The absolute best there is. I combine the two and have great results. I have had 32 birds for the last 10 years and never has one been sick. Save tons on vet bills.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Same great taste!

I had been feeding my parrotlet Zupreem Avian Maintenance Canary/Finch, but apparently it was phased out, and this is the alternative. I was worried that the size would be too big for my parrotlet to handle (it's much bigger than the old size), but he handled it easily, and I'm sure he's still getting the great Zupreem nutrition. No prob!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Small is too large for finches

mee2

Zupreem Natural size XS had been my standard finch food for years. I had been buying it in the 20 pound bag. But Zupreem discontinued the XS canary and finch size. Probably from lack of sufficient sales. So now the smallest size is S, which is for parakeet and small parrots. The size S is too big for small finches to get in their mouth. The finches have been avoiding the new larger pellets, forcing me to give them the fruit flavored pellets (in XS size). This has forced me to either switch to the Fruit flavored (which colors their poop and stains the perches) or switch to another brand which has a smaller finch size pellet. This POOR rating is simply because the size for my finches (XS) has been discontinued. And the recommended size (S) is too large for them. The product when it was available in XS size was just fine.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Is this product replacing the canary specific pellets?

  1. I have a parrotlet and was feeding what you were feeding. From my research, Zupreem has phased it out, and the Parakeet Premium is the only alternative. I was afraid the pellets were too large for him, but he adjusted instantly. I'm pretty sure the formulas of the two are identical, so not to worry.
