Foxface and Rabbitfish can make a colorful and beneficial addition to the home aquarium for experienced marine aquarists. These fish are generally peaceful and can be safely housed with a wide array of other species, but caution should be taken with any handling of this fish as they do have venomous dorsal and anal fins that can deliver a painful sting.
As these fish can reach adult sizes of 6-15", depending on species, a minimum of 75 gallons or larger is required for them to have ample swimming room. Foxface and Rabbitfish will prefer an aquarium with plenty of rock and décor for hiding spaces and will need to be provided with algae strips if there is not enough algae in the aquarium. These fish can be beneficial in eating nuisance algae such as bubble algae, but may also nip at desirable algae as well as LPS and soft corals.
