Caution: Not for human consumption. Do not taste, swallow or breathe. Avoid contact with skin as it may cause irritation. If in eyes, immediately flush with water for 15 minutes. If ingested, drink water and call a physician immediately! Do not mix with household chemicals. Keep out of the reach of children. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds immediately before each use! Add 5-10 mL (1-2 tsp) per 55 gallons of aquarium capacity directly in an area of high water flow every day until target calcium level and alkalinity are reached. Due to its highly concentrated formula, dosing will cause cloudiness that will dissipate within one hour. It is recommended to add to your system at night, in order to counter the natural tendency for pH to decrease during this time. This also allows time for the aquarium to clear. When added at a rate of 1 mL per gallon of purified water will increase the concentration of calcium by 26 ppm.

I had a coralline explosion. It workes very fast. I used it for about 2 weeks once a day and saw results within 3 days. I am giving it a break for about a week and plan to start it back up again. Highly recomend.

I thought I would try it because it might help with Coroline and cover my cal dose at the same time but it made my tank very cloudy and stressed my blue tang so bad he started to get ich. We all know ich is brought on by stress most of us have had it and it's never fun so why push it when Coroline will grow with out help on it's own time. Lesson learned time to move on!

No, I do not recommend this product.

125 gal. LONG reef aquarium since Feb. 2010 I didn't think this was going to work as well as it does. There was already pink coralline algae everywhere: LR, powerheads, overflow, substrate and even some on the glass. Some red and purple algae are spotted around as well, but after only 1 dose of this stuff the purple was growing and spreading like crazy. I've used it for 3 weeks now, 1 dose per, and now have green calcareous macro-algae growing all over the glass. The pink coralline is boosted and layering over each other, a must buy for new and/or established aquariums. P.S. yes it does cloud the water for a few hours, so dose it at night when you won't see it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

how long does it take for the purple algae take to grow?

  1. Thank you for your question arturorokstarr. There are lots of factors that affect the growth of Coraline algae from calcium, magnesium, carbonates, iodide, manganese, iron levels etc, along with minor trace elements. As long as the calcium levels are between 400 and 500ppm, magnesium is between 1280 and 1500ppm and you have a dKH of 8 – 12 you can add the Kent purple tech and you should start to see growth after a few weeks and if you keep using it the growth should start to accelerate and really start going after a month or two. However if your levels go out of a reasonable balance the growth may slow down or cease altogether and even start dying off.
