This can vary based on the amount of corals and invertebrates living in the aquarium. The best way to determine your reef tank's specific needs is to test for each of these elements.

A few differences between liquid and powder is with the liquid, you do not need to premix it with water before adding it to the aquarium. Powder supplement you tend to get more volume, for like products, for a cheaper cost.
