Nutri-Berries Feeding Schedule Combine Tropical Fruit Nutri-Berries with your bird's current diet. Once your bird begins eating Nutri-Berries, discontinue the previous diet. Note: Most birds accept Nutri-Berries right away. However, if your bird does not initially eat the Nutri-Berries, flatten them and mix with current diet until accepted. Once your bird is eating Nutri-Berries, feed your bird as much as will be eaten in a 12-hour period (about ten to 12 Nutri-Berries). Let your bird empty the food dish before adding more Nutri-Berries. Ideally, your pet bird will be fed twice a day, with the dish being emptied after each meal.

Parrots love them, but price spiked!

I have fed Nutriberries for years, as a treat in addition to fresh foods and pellets to my flock of five rescue cockatoos and Amazons. I just ordered several bags of these, six months ago, for MUCH LESS. I see that the manufacturer is now enforcing their own pricing with an increase of 50%, since June! Unfortunately with the large amount of waste with this product, I can no longer afford to feed it to my five parrots. At a minimum, 20% of the bags are crumbs in the bottom. Add to that the parts that the parrots drop when they bite into them, and it’s just not feasible. I will be shopping for something different from a different manufacturer and reasonably priced. I hope this is shared with Lafeber, and in no way reflects on this website which I find to offer great products and service.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Arrived timely but both packages were not the freshest or else they took a good beating getting here . More like just seed than seed balls . Won't order again . And have ordered several times before with no problems .

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have been using parrot seed for my Yellow Nape Amazon and my Indian Ring parakeet for a long time. Decided to give them a treat and ordered this product. Both love it and look for it. Devoured immediately.

My bird loves these berries, but I only give him a few at a time. He would rather eat just berries than all the other foods.

My African Grey loves Nutriberries, but he REALLY loves these Fruit Parrot Nutriberries! I only wish they came in a plastic container like the regular Nutriberries, as they tend to dry out and crumble. I saved the plastic containers from the plain Nutriberries, which solves that problem.

Yes, I recommend this product.

How is the 20-pound Nutriberries packaged?

  1. Thank you for your question. The 20 # are in a bag, inside a box. It is not a group of smaller packages.

Can you freeze them?

  1. Good question,. I went online and found out that you can. In fact I am feeding a bag of thawed ones now. I allow the whole sealed bag to come to room temperature before unsealing and feeding it. This way no moisture collects inside the bag. I always date the bag before I freeze it. No loss of quality.

How can I soften my Nutri Berries

  1. If they are hard as rock that means there was a tear or hole somewhere in the bag. I would contact Dr. F&S support and let them send another one. Or if you really want to try to soften them, I would say try to lightly steam them...But I burn water so probably would want to listen to someone who knows more than I do. ha ha. Good Luck.
