Reef Builder raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting on pH. With long term use there will be a tendency to stabilize at pH 8.3. Used as directed, Reef Builder will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity. Reef Builder and Reef Buffer may be used together.

  • - Raises carbonate alkalinity (KH) with minimal impact on pH
  • - A blend of carbonate sources that will not lower pH as competing bicarbonate only products can
  • - Will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium

I've been using Seachem products for years to help my reef thrive. I'm not into dosers and all and using this powder makes life simple for me. Great product with predictable results.

This product works well and is of consistent quality. I have a calcium reactor, and dose kalkwasser also but once or twice per week need to bump up the dKh to 10.This product works quickly and predictably to do this.If you are planning to dose daily with buffer and calcium then I would suggest you buy in bulk, and save some money

Yes, I recommend this product.

Don't have alot to say about this, but it does what it suppose to. I do not have calcium problems it's alway were it needs to be at. I lose more magnesium and strontium then calcium and my KH needs a daily buffer and this works great.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Works great at rasing your alk. My PH has been stable but i started dosinc LaCl to help rid my phosphates unfortunatly to starve it out i needed at 0.00. so when dosing at low range phos the LaCl if not binding with the phosphates will lower your alk. I saw one review on a forum a man was not happy as it burned his coral. Mix this 100% through with tank water or top off water. If you have a sump pour there. But DO NOT directly pour into the display tank!

Yes, I recommend this product.

excellent simple remedy to low alkalinity

I had low alkalinity for a while in my reef tank, and this worked almost instantly to fix it, and the difference in coral growth was amazing! simple to use, just mix a little in with some freshwater, and add it to our tank or sump.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Can Seachem's Reef Builder raise KH without affecting pH on a planted freshwater tank? If not, what would the recommended buffer be?

  1. Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, Reef Builder can not be utilized in a freshwater tank.
