This is a little smaller than expected so no room to run around in. Need to attach tunnel to have more fun.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Rats love it

Well I wish it came with more balls or bigger balls. For ferrets I suspect it's perfect but I wish my rats had more. I added other fun things and other cat balls along with the ferret tube they suggested. As rats do they chewed the tunnel up but super surprising they don't chew the bin. They do chew the balls like a rat would do but two weeks later there are still unchewed balls which is not rat like. So most of my rats love it the others leave it alone or use it rarely. Over all this product is great but I would suggest you buy more balls for more fun!

Yes, I recommend this product.

My ferrets absolutely LOVED this toy! They came out of their cage everyday to play in it, and it remained in good shape for at least a couple months. I defiantly recommend buying this product, my ferret loved playing in it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My ferrets tore it apart

Very disappointed. The balls included didn't even cover the bottom of the pit, and my ferrets tore the bottom right out within a week. I recommend making your own dig box or ball pit rather than buying this product. Now I just have the balls in their play pen and they love chasing them around like little otters. :) they love the balls at least!

No, I do not recommend this product.

The product looked like fun to me, but my ferrets are having more fun with the box it was shipped in than the actual toy. I will leave it out to see if they take to it sooner or later. You definitely will need one or two extra ball packs for this - they don't include nearly enough.

No, I do not recommend this product.

MUST HAVE for ferret owners!

Our three ferrets all love the ball pit! They also have the clear tube from Marshall, which connects to it. I have never seen them play with a toy we have gotten them for as long or as often as this ball pit. The oldest one, who is about 5 now, will lay in there and toss the balls around for AGES. The other nice part is the balls are not something they can get their mouths around, so they can't run off and hide them around the house. Truly a perfect toy for ferrets of all ages and personalities.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My two fuzzies love this ball pit. They can put teeth marks into the balls (trying to carry them off to a nest), but they love both chasing the balls and being in the pit with them.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 5 of 5 Questions

If the balls fall on a floor, are they noisy? What are they made of? Could a person slip on them?

  1. I believe the balls are made of plastic, so yes, they do make a bit of noise when they fall on the ground. However, no, a person wouldn't slip on them. The balls are made that way purposely. They are hollow on the inside. Weak enough to be stepped on, but tough enough to maintain good condition with ferret play.

Are these good for Hedgehogs?

  1. You could try this with your hedgehog. If your hedgehog doesn't like it, you will see by his body language and facial expression. I try different things with my chinchillas and degus. Some work, some don't. I just give it to a ferret rescue, if it is safe for them to use it, if your hedgehog doesn't like it.

Do you recommend this for a rabbit?

  1. Each bunny is different; some love all kinds of toys (like my Pico) and doesn't discriminate--lol--but other bunnies are fickle. As for a bunny not knowing what to do with the balls (per what the one person claimed)--not true. My bunnies play with EVERYTHING. In fact, I made something similar to this a long time ago, and they had fun with it no differently than any other species. It really is a hit or miss, though, as again, each bunny has a different personality regarding toys. If you decide to get it, and your bunny doesn't care for the balls, then just remove them and put crumpled newspaper in there; we all know bunnies love that! My only concern would be what the other poster noted, in regards to the weight of your bunny. Being a hefty nine pounds might just squish the balls (depending on their resiliency) and not be much fun for your bun. Plus, with her size--not just her weight--she might not even be able to fit into the entry holes, let alone wiggle around much within the cube. I'd say this toy is more for a dwarf rabbit under 4 lbs.

Could I use this for guinea pigs

  1. Ya he would love it but I probly not the tube accessories

Do the balls fit through the holes?

  1. The balls do fit through the holes. However, they are too slick for my ferrets to grab a hold of, but they end up playing/kicking them out of the holes. Not a lot of them, but a couple end up outside the box.
