The Cardinal gate we purchased works well. We mounted it high enough for the cat to get under and the dog not to be able to jump over! It is sturdy and the mechanism is well made. WE took off the safety latch (put there for kids) to make it quicker to get through the gate.

I have a doorway with offsetting walls and the duragate mounted just as it was advertised it fits perfectly and swings out of the way on the long wall side it"s perfect for what I needed!!

arrived in a timely fashion - about 5 days. sturdy gate. our collie/lab mix puppy tries to nibble on it, and then leaves it alone. Took less than 1 hour to install. This was the only gate we could find that was smaller than 27 inches...
Only downside is - it is tricky to open with one hand, unlike most other gates you can use one hand to carry other things and open the gate at same time...not with this one - that's the only reason we give it 4 instead of 5.

Easy to install, nice clean lines. It opens wide you hardly notice there's a gate there when opened. But it's a little pricey.

will this rust if installed outdoors. to create a doggie run
- Thanks for your question. YES, IT WILL RUST if used outdoors! The Duragate is designed for indoor use only. It features steel construction which will rust if used outside. If you need an outdoor gate, choose our aluminum gate with stainless steel hardware gate: Cardinal Gates Stairway Special Outdoor Gate in Brown (PETCO.com SKU#1455702). Width extensions are also available for the Outdoor gate.
