The picture on this is misleading. There are a LOT of safflower seeds and not much of the larger pieces to be found. Will not be ordering this brand again. Most of it will go to waste because my macaw doesn't eat the safflower seeds. Good thing I just bought this to mix in with her normal pellets/nuts. Attached a picture

No, I do not recommend this product.

morgan loves this food but it has to be the celestial blend. He has gained weight now because this is the only food he will eat. There is only one thing sometimes they don't get the same amount of all of the product together, they leave out brazil nuts everything else is always measured great I guess maybe sometimes they can't get them so I have to buy a bag of already cracked out of the hard shell because they are so hard to get out.But usually when I have a problem dr. Foster and Smith give me a new product to replace whatever I'm looking for. Thank you Helene

I give my 2 parrots, an Eclectus and cockatoo, a varied mixture of dried foods. Higgins adds a good variety of natural foods that they can eat and play and is good for them. I believe it is worth the extra cost to add this to their pellets.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Peanuts??

  1. Thank you for your question. The Tikal Blend of Higgins Mayan Harvest Blends For Parrots, does contain peanuts: Tikal Blend - features shelled almonds, roasted soybean, whole corn, fried green peas, hulled oats, safflower, shelled peanuts, sunflower seed, flaked carrot, flaked corn, pumpkin seed, kafir, papaya, buckwheat, coconut chips, cantaloupe, cashews, hot chili peppers, raisins, bananas, pignolias, hemp seed, cranberries, blueberries, juniper berries, beets, leeks, sweet potatoes, chamomile flowers, basil, and more.

I have a canary winged parakeet...what should I feed him.

  1. I feed mine veggie chop and fruit. I also use Higgins Mayan harvest Tikal blend mixed with golden feast autrailian blend and golden feast Caribbean bounty. I add Karen's naturals just veggies occasionally. Canary wings shouldn't have pellet food at all.
